Summary: At the opening ceremony of the 2025 (7th) China City Water Environment and Ecological Development Conference and the Three Gorges Environmental Science and Technology Conference, held in Wujiang, Suzhou on May 20, 2025, the 2025 (2nd) Yangtze River Protection Excellent Practice Cases were announced. Among them, the Wuhan "Nanhu Water Environment Improvement Project", in which Hubei Qirun Ecological Construction Co., Ltd. participated in equipment supply and installation, became one of the seven nationally awarded projects.

On May 20, 2025, at the opening ceremony of the 2025 (7th) China Urban Water Environment and Ecological Development Conference and the Three Gorges Environmental Science and Technology Conference held in Wujiang, Suzhou, the 2025 (2nd) Excellent Practices in the Yangtze River Protection were announced. Among them, Wuhan's "Nanhu Water Environment Improvement Project," in which Hubei Qirun Ecological Construction Co., Ltd. participated in equipment supply and installation, became one of the seven nationally recognized projects.

It is understood that this event was jointly organized by the Water Environment and Water Ecology Branch of the China Urban Science Research Association and the Joint Research Center for Yangtze River Ecological Environmental Protection and Restoration. It was launched in early February 2025 and went through several stages including collection, review, evaluation, voting, and defense over more than 100 days. The benchmark projects selected this time will be showcased and promoted through national platforms and prioritized for recommendation to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment for pilot demonstration projects.

Wuhan Nanhu Lake covers a water area of 7.67 square kilometers, a catchment area of 37.44 square kilometers, a total shoreline of 23 kilometers, a reservoir capacity of approximately 20.52 million cubic meters, an average water depth of 2.7 meters, and is the third largest urban lake in Wuhan. The surrounding area is mainly residential and educational and scientific research land, with 11 primary and secondary schools, 26 higher education institutions, and a total population of approximately 600,000.

In order to improve the living environment for urban residents, the Wuhan Municipal Water Bureau launched the "Nanhu Water Environment Comprehensive Improvement Project." The project mainly includes a first flush collection and treatment project (first flush plant 250,000 m 3 /day, collection pipeline 7.2km, booster station 6.9m3/s); municipal sewage pipe network project (1.58km); ecological project (ecological transformation of 12 large outlets and 1.29km 2 aquatic plant restoration project); intelligent system project covering 37.44km 2 of the basin.

Hubei Qirun Ecological Construction Co., Ltd. provided an integrated equipment solution for the first flush plant and municipal pipe network of this project. Integrating globally leading concepts and equipment, during the construction of the first flush collection system for this project, the "intelligent interception well + hydraulic cyclone separator + pipeline flushing" combination technology proposed by the design institute was implemented, effectively alleviating the non-point source pollution problem in large urban lakes. The water quality of Nanhu Lake has been effectively improved and maintained at Class IV water quality
